The task

Zajadacz is an electronics wholesaler. The client wanted a new way to show their shop locations on their website, with a focus on usability and performance. The existing solution was slow and not user-friendly, with static images and a lot of text. The new solution should be interactive, fast, and easy to use.

How I worked

I built the component in Solid.js and TypeScript, pulling the locations from the backend over a REST API and rendering them through the Google Maps API.

The map sits above a list of the same locations, filterable by city and type. Selecting one opens its details, and a second click hands off to Google Maps for directions from wherever the user is.

Outcome

The client liked it enough that it didn't stay a single page. The same component now runs in the basket, showing stock at the nearest shop, and on product detail pages, showing which shops nearby have the item in stock.
